About Us

Hi y'all and welcome to WLG the blog!

I'm Bianca and the owner and designer of With Lavender and grace. I'm also a grateful Grace recipient, wife, and mother to two little boys.

My husband and I bought the worst house on the block in 2009 and we've been renovating it ourselves ever since.

Back then, we started a blog to document our progress and we'd post before/afters and DIY projects and tutorials.

When I became pregnant with our first, I fell in love with reading home decor blogs {RIP blogspot} and the blog became more about home decor where I'd post DIY decor ideas and tutorials and document the decorating progress in our home. The blog had a strong readership, and I learned a ton about design, decor, and the small business world

I taught myself to sew, partnered with youtube videos, my mom's rusty old Kenmore machine and some help from my husband {praise for home ec classes back in the day!} I made a denim crib skirt for my son's nursery and the passion was ignited. I began sewing everything and anything I could think of for our home: curtains, table runners and pillows! I created the design for my pillows because i was looking for a way to brighten up our giant leather couch, that would also be family friendly and washable.

I'd make them for gifts and anytime I wanted to update the look of any room in our home. Every now and then I'd post some pillows on Etsy, and they would consistently sell out right away.

After our second was born, we struggled with his health and sewing and Etsy took a backseat. The blog became a bit more personal as I'd write more and more about the beauty that can be found in day to day life, and finding joy in the mundane. Unfortunately, his health became more of a challenge and I stopped blogging but the posts during that period are still some of my favorites.

In the Summer of 2016, I decided to go after my passions  and pursue my dream of owning a home decor business. The response floored me, and I'm so proud of how the business has evolved. We are in shops throughout the country and have strong relationships with our customers.

My oldest is in first grade and the littlest is home with me. I'm up at 2 am everyday to work before the littles are up, then I transition in to mom-mode. Life is currently crazy busy and overwhelming in the very best way. I feel incredibly blessed to be able to do what I love, while also being home with my boys. To say that I love to work, and feel incredibly privileged to work is an understatement. I'm also first and foremost a mom, and have dreamt of this role my whole life. We are an incredibly close family and my husband and boys are my greatest joy and blessing. I don't believe one has to choose between the two and I'm passionate about empowering fellow work at home and small business owning moms.

I decided to start blogging again as a way to share more of our heart behind this business. My husband and I now run With lavender and Grace together. We are crazy passionate about creating something of quality, that is meant to last. This is shown in the products we sell and the work we've done throughout our home.

Here I'll share more about our home and how we've tackled many of the projects, including our DIY kitchen renovation and other rooms and projects we've DIY'd, gardening tips and tricks, product updates and styling ideas and a peek in to our lives.

I love early rising, good coffee, all things home, grain sack textiles, overgrown gardens, tan lines, lavender, beach days, cooking from the garden, rust, holistic health, the sound of my children's laughter, chippy white paint, the smell of sunscreen, succulents, flea markets and estate sales, night swimming, dining al fresco, magic erasers, books I can't wait to pick up, wet kisses from my boys and big, fluffy beds.

You can always find me posting products and pics from our home on insta here, Facebook here and pinterest here.

Thanks for reading sweet friend! I'm so glad you're here!
